No course has hosted the Ryder Cup more times than the Brabazon Course at The Belfry. Designed by Peter Alliss and Dave Thomas, the Brabazon staged the matches four times, in 1985, 1989, 1993 and 2002. The course is made up of majestic lush fairways, perfect greens, lakes and devilish bunkers, which have seen the likes of Tiger Woods and Nick Faldo slip up.
Alongside the marvellous Brabazon, the PGA National course continues to grow in reputation and has hosted European Tour events. With the feel of an inland links – large, firm fairways, quick, wide, undulating greens, severe run-offs and giant bunkers – it is a real test for the best of golfers.
The third course at the Belfry is The Derby. The Derby offers golfers a true test of golf on a parkland design. Featuring strategic bunkering, several water hazards and well-designed risk-and-reward holes, The Derby is perfect for players of all levels. With three courses worth playing, a longer stay is well worthwhile, and the resort’s beautifully decorated rooms make The Belfry a luxurious base for any golf break.
