Set in 200 acres of parkland in Worsley, north-west of Manchester city centre, Delta Hotels Worsley Park Country Club combines a championship golf course with a four-star hotel, spa and leisure club, just minutes from the city.
It is one of the most convenient golf resorts in the North West: a short drive from Manchester, the Trafford Centre and the football stadiums of Old Trafford and the Etihad, and within easy reach of the Open Championship links of England’s Golf Coast. That makes it an ideal base for groups combining golf with a city break, a football match or a few days on the coast.
The golf course
Designed by Ross McMurray and Michael King of European Golf Design and opened in 1999, the championship course at Worsley Park measures 6,611 yards with a par of 71. Laid out across gently undulating parkland, it makes clever use of natural water hazards, mature woodland and strategically placed bunkers, rewarding accuracy over power. The par-3 7th is regarded as the signature hole.
The course is widely regarded as one of the best inland tests in the north of England and features in National Club Golfer’s Top 100 golf resorts in Great Britain and Ireland. A driving range, practice putting green and resident PGA professionals offering tuition complete the golf facilities.
Stay and relax
The hotel, refurbished in 2023, has 158 rooms, many with views over the golf course and parkland. Its leisure club includes an indoor pool, sauna, steam room and gym, while the spa offers a full range of treatments, from massages to facials. With nine meeting rooms and a terrace bar overlooking the course, Worsley Park is also well suited to corporate golf days and society events.
