IAGTO is the global golf tourism organisation: the trade association for golf tour operators, golf resorts, hotels, golf courses and destinations around the world.
Established in 1997 as the International Association of Golf Tour Operators, IAGTO now has more than 2,600 members in 93 countries, including over 800 specialist golf tour operators in 69 countries. Between them, those operators are responsible for more than 90% of the golf holiday packages sold worldwide.
IAGTO runs three annual golf tourism sales conventions, in Asia, Europe and North America, bringing tour operators face to face with golf resorts, hotels and destinations for pre-arranged business meetings. Its 2026 European Convention in Málaga drew almost 1,000 delegates, the largest gathering of golf tourism professionals it has ever staged. The 2027 conventions take place in Kuala Lumpur (5–7 April), Alicante (17–19 May) and Punta Cana (21–23 June).
Beyond its conventions, IAGTO organises familiarisation trips for tour operators and has contributed to the golf tourism strategies of 35 countries and regions. It is led by its founder and Chief Executive, Peter Walton, and is registered in England as a professional membership organisation.
IAGTO endorsed Golf Tourism England at its launch, and its conventions remain a key meeting point between GTE members and international golf tour operators.
