Three contrasting golf courses offer unrivalled variety, links, heathland and parkland, as well as outstanding quality, which will test all your golfing skills.
Woodhall Spa a golfing oasis nestled in the heart of beautiful Lincolnshire countryside.
The Hotchkin Course is an exceptional championship course currently ranked 53rd in the world, and certainly one of the best inland venues in the UK. Renowned for its formidable bunkers and narrow fairways, most visitors will remember the panoramic views of the 11th and the charm of the short 12th hole.
The Bracken course may be the sister course but it is by no means a little sister! It is laid out alongside the Hotchkin but involves quite different terrain. Many of the holes are in a parkland setting and the remainder make good use of Bracken Wood at the far end of the estate.
Seacroft is an excellent links course, and is one of the best on England's east coast. It's not long but it's tough with punishing rough, narrow fairways and quick greens - ably supported by a stunning golf clubhouse. The star hole is the stroke index one 7th, a 403 yards par 4 right dogleg with seven bunkers and a hidden, sloping green with OB just behind it.
The Seacroft Golf Club was formed in 1895 and was originally a nine-hole layout, before it expanded to the 18 holes it has today - the course at the Seacroft Golf Club was designed by Willie Fernie, the 1883 Open champion - in 1900. In 1911 and 1923 there were major alterations, but more than half the present holes are as Fernie originally designed them, giving the course a real traditional value. The two nines, back and front, occupy distinct levels with a central ridge of dunes dividing one from the other.
It may be in the smallest county in England, but Luffenham Heath is a prince among heathland courses and is the handiwork of Harry Colt and James Braid. Chosen to host Open regional qualifying between 2013-17, the wonderfully gently undulating layout has a particularly testing finish, including a classic downhill par-3 17th.
Luffenham Heath is set in rolling rural countryside with spectacular views of the river Chater valley. The land is designated a Site of Special Scientific interest. The course has been extended and new bunkers added. Tip: the greens generally break towards the river Chater.
Luffenham Heath, a golfing gem, was opened in 1911 with a celebrity match between James Braid and Harry Vardon.
Widely acknowledged as one of the finest and most challenging heathland courses in the Midlands and beyond, it lies in the gentle rolling countryside of Rutland surrounded by woodlands and delightful stone villages.
Classic Luffenham Heath conditions will be firm fairways and greens. A premium in hitting the fairway allows the golfer to fly into the green. From the rough its very difficult to hold the green and in some circumstances fool hardy to try.
