GTE was very proud to work with three very hospitable golf clubs in the North East of England; Goswick GC, Bamburgh Castle GC and Dunstanburgh GC.
UK based Tour Operators joined us to meet representatives of the Clubs and play a ’tour’ which although well known in Northumberland, has certainly not gained the profile it deserves across the country.
Day 1 started at Dunstanburgh Golf Club, a club that definitely flies under the radar, so it would be fair to say that expectation was not particularly high. Well this turned out to be a very pleasant surprise. A very good links course with some spectacular holes, and a Par 3 that plays to the foot of the ruined Castle will not be forgotten in a hurry.
Bamburgh Castle is a joy to play, and has possibly the best views of any golf course in England, with only Thurlestone and St. Enodoc able to compete.
And then, of course, Goswick GC which is a high quality test of golf and an Open Championship Qualifying course. Accommodation was provided by the Inn Collection who have 4 golfer friendly hotels in the region, all suitably placed for this tour.
