GTE has always been keen to recognise proactive promotional activities and innovative marketing strategies undertaken by our members. There is no doubting that Goswick GC is a wonderful golf course, but it has challenges mainly due to it’s remoteness. Working with local Clubs like Bamburgh Castle and Dunstanburgh Castle is a fairly obvious strategy, although neither has the profile of Goswick and seem comfortable with their current position as leading courses in Northumberland. Goswick, however, as an Open Championship Qualifying course, are altogether more ambitious, and see the world in a much broader perspective. Recent collaborative cross promotions with such clubs as Muirfield and Carnoustie, demonstrates a determination to see the Club recognised as one of the UK’s finest links, and an association with two of the world’s most famous links courses can only be a positive relationship.
The twin goals of this plan are to increase awareness of Goswick and raise perceptions of the club to support the continued gradual increase of its average visitor fee, thus producing the additional revenue needed to reinvest and further improve the course, facilities and customer experience.
