Cavendish Golf Club in Buxton is a members’ Club founded in 1925 and designed by the world-renowned architect Dr Alister MacKenzie who went on to build the most famous golf course of all, Augusta National, home of the Masters. At 5721yds long it is short by modern standards, but with plenty of par 4s close to or over 400yds and with its clever layout and changes in elevation it won’t feel like a short course by the time you reach the 18th.

The incredible views, undulating fairways, natural hazards and complex sloping greens make it a challenge for the very best golfers. Add in an abundance of wildlife; from hares and pheasants to buzzards and roe deer and you’ll enjoy a great day out on a course that can be enjoyed by golfers of all abilities.

When you’re done golfing, if the sun is shining, there is no better place than the clubhouse terrace to enjoy a drink or a bite to eat whilst looking out across the Peak District. Cavendish is a special place!

In 2022 we entered the prestigious Top 100 Courses in England from Top100GolfCourses.com at No.88 making us the highest ranked course in Derbyshire: https://www.top100golfcourses.com/golf-course/cavendish.
